We are looking for a Mechanical General Equipment Engineer possessing a strong ability to ensure successful project execution by taking technical engineering accountability for project deliverables. If you have a proven track record and are interested in gaining exposure in the energy transition sector (LNG, NGL, decarbonization, H2, ammonia, etc.) than this may be the right opportunity for you. This position is critical to our success and will require a true expert in this space.

This role will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and will be a pivotal part of the foundation of our growing team. This position can be based in our Seattle or Houston office.

What You Will Do

  • Mechanical design engineering, specification and selection of new or replacement of packaged equipment.
  • Undertake FEED and detail design-engineering projects.
  • Provide technical expertise in packaged equipment.
  • Take accountability for mechanical engineering deliverables for packaged equipment.
  • Take engineering accountability for facility layouts, plot plans, mechanical orthographic, and skid design for packaged equipment, which comply with DOT 49 CFR 193, NFPA 59a, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Develop specifications/datasheets for mechanical packaged equipment.
  • Develop RFQ’s for packaged equipment.
  • Review vendor quotations, perform technical clarifications with vendors, develop and condition technical bid tabs, and select vendors for packaged equipment.
  • Manage, review, and approve vendor data/documents for fabrication.
  • Accountable for integration of equipment into both custom skid packages and BOP / stick-built designs by working and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and design groups.
  • Work and communicate with project management team, including providing regular progress and schedule reporting.
  • Assume engineering accountability for scope of work and supply and approval of subcontracted packaged equipment and their sub-vendors.
  • Attend and represent mechanical engineering discipline in multi-disciplinary, project, and client coordination meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of science degree in mechanical, chemical engineering or related (required).
  • 3+ years related offshore and onshore upstream, midstream, or LNG facility experience with engineering contractor (required).
  • Experience with LNG, NGL, cryogenic / natural gas processing facilities (preferred).
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering small to medium size multi-disciplinary projects where you were directly accountable for identifying and closing technical gaps to exceed customer expectations (required).
  • We are an engineering and EPC contractor- a career dedicated to engineering contracting and successful EPC project execution (required).
  • Experience with Packaged Equipment (required).
  • Experience with Rotating Equipment (desired).
  • Familiarity with engineering design concept of other equipment types, piping, and piping components as part of packaged equipment including columns, vessels, heaters, heat exchangers, modulating and on/off control valves, ESD valves, hand valves and specialty items, etc. (preferred).
  • Experience developing and owning reports, creating and documenting, summary reports and PowerPoint slide decks and leading customer review meetings (required).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (required).
  • Ability to interact effectively with vendors and clients (approximately 85% of your work involves internal interaction – 15% external).
  • International experience – we execute work across the globe (preferred).
  • Field experience including construction, commissioning, start-up, and operational support (preferred).
