Incentive: PIP 15%

Job Summary

Energy Efficiency (EE) is one of the fastest growing businesses in the country. Due to recent NJ legislation, NJ utilities are being held accountable to reach challenging energy efficient targets. The legislation will require a five to tenfold increase in workload. In order for PSE&G to meet its regulatory requirement, we need to assist our suppliers in the recruitment and training of union labor that will implement these energy efficient projects.

This position is primarily responsible for the creation and management of a comprehensive program that focuses on union participation in energy efficiency. It also involves the continued development of PSE&Gs Clean Energy Job Program, which includes modification and enhancements to our implementation plans for our Energy Efficiency suppliers performance with respect to union job hiring and use of unionized vendors. This individual would play a critical role in goal setting (i.e., metrics development, negotiations), reporting and tracking of union participation by EE suppliers while also ensuring active union participation in workforce development efforts.


Job Responsibilities

  • Building relationships with key stakeholders from the unions (e.g., IBEW), community organizations, state and local officials
  • Work with internal resources (e.g., Legal, Contracts Management) to develop comprehensive metrics
  • Participation on behalf of management at executive and external leadership meetings
  • Manage the program budget including developing budget proposals, justifying expenses, and monitoring expenditures
  • Manage key performance indicators, scorecard and milestone metrics
  • Working with our EE suppliers to refine program key performance indicators and implement future offerings to support long-term program goals
  • Working with our recruiting partnerships (NJ DOL and Community Partners) and our EE suppliers on recruiting and job placement
  • Work in conjunction with State and Governmental Affairs to build external partnerships and program growth
  • Supervision and development of internal support staff

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • BS degree in Business, Engineering, Communications or 8 years equivalent functional experience.
  • At least 8 years of project management experience
  • Knowledge of Contract Management compliance
  • Applicant must have effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and be result-oriented.
  • Process development / improvement and project management skills.
  • Clear and concise writing and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Internal consulting skills; strong presentation skills; proven ability to lead, coach and motivate a team.
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio.
  • Must have a Valid Drivers License
  • PMP certification will be required within two years of taking the position.

Desired:

  • Familiarity of NJ union (e.g., IBEW, 601) landscape
  • Knowledge of NJ Energy Efficiency landscape
  • Knowledge of Energy Efficiency work practices and training
  • 2 years of Project Management related to workforce development
  • Current PSE&G Six Sigma Black or Green Belt Candidate
