Job Summary

PSEG is looking for talented technology professionals to join our team. Our vision is to power the digital future of PSEG. We are partners with the business, and we are driving business outcomes through innovative use of technology. This position is in Somerset, New Jersey.
As a Technology Professional will be involved in the full systems life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, and supporting application software and systems. Technology Professionals will work closely with Manager of Technology and Group Product Managers to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and physical design of technical solutions.

This is a multi-level position and placement is dependent upon the skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities of the candidate.

Our Sr Technology Professionals has one or more years of relevant technology experience. Technology Software Engineers work closely with Business Analysts and Product Owners or Group Product Managers to understand business needs.

Technology Professional or Sr Technology Professional may be assigned to either development or support functions.


Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing ADMS and DERMS applications and systems and provide recommendations for improving ADMS and DERMS applications performance.
  • Partner with business analysts to translate business needs into functional requirements.
  • Analyze ADMS and DERMS functional requirements, design, develop and tests software to satisfy needs.
  • Collaborate with architects and infrastructure teams to integrate applications and systems.
  • Ensure that ADMS and DERMS application design, development, implementation, and documentation meet established standards for quality, reliability and security.
  • Resolve emergent issues based on root cause analysis, and an understanding of the impact of the solution. This includes daily support with the resolution of escalated tickets.
  • Analyze ADMS application performance to ensure that functionality available to users meets all requirements.
  • Update application, system, and related documentation as per change management.
  • Update Daily ADMS network model (Database), SCADA Linking, DERMS Database and troubleshoot the model errors.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education & Skillset:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field i.e., STEM or minimum 2 – 4 years of equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience within the IT field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.
  • Overall strong technical proficiency in information technology/computer disciplines.
  • Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain working relationships with peers and clients.
  • Good communications, consultative and interpersonal skills, including oral, written and presentation; teamwork, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation, with the ability to work effectively with internal clients from various business organizations and lines of business, and IT management and staff.
  • Ability to work in a 24×7 environment with callout availability required.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and/or project management
  • Experience working with or related coursework to write software code in both web and client/server environments such as:
    • Software Languages: Python, C, XML, SQL, Bash
    • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
    • Relational Databases: SQL Server, Postgres, MongoDB
  • Operational Technology understanding (Electrical)
  • Previous knowledge of the SCADA Database
