Job Summary

The Analyst position supports PSEG Long Islands Asset Management Reliability Team.

Data analysis, mining, and reporting solution development using SQL, SAS, Access, Excel, Tableau to achieve goal of consolidating data sources from various corporate systems and local databases (OMS outage management system, SAP, GIS graphical information system, P6, tree trim tracker, etc.). Develop circuit level correlation analysis and behavior models tracking all discrete initiatives (ACRV circuit recloser, ASUV Viper sectionalizing switch, Trip Saver branch line recloser, relay settings, vegetation management initiatives, hardening initiatives, etc.) by topology to arrive at recommendations for program spend to maximize results. Research industry trends into distribution system specific analytics solutions. Prepare, plan and track program spend for MCO multiple customer outage, CIP circuit improvement, LT5H (ASUV) less than 500 customers per mainline segment, ACRV, branch line reclosers budgets along with forecasts to ensure financial and unit targets are met. Take lead role in new program and capital spend initiatives as needed from inception including project creation and ranking in SOS spend optimization suite, project council justifications, URB review board interface and presentation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Asset Strategy and Reliability team with analysis of asset performance health.
  • Develop cost benefit models across all realiability programs to optimize spend and reliability benefit long term.
  • Support the discovery, development and implementation of new processes and technologies used for data analysis.
  • Provide technical/analytical functional support in the areas of asset performance, health and risk management.
  • Available off hours to perform storm restoration as needed.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer/Data Science or Engineering with 3 years of analytical work experience
  • In lieu of degree, 5 years of analytical experience in both quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Access, Excel, Power Point or the ability to quickly gain proficiency with available tools (e.g. SAP, Maximo)
  • Knowledge of monthly reporting processes, financial and/or work management
  • Ability to participate in the development, documentation and implementation of process, technology and organizational improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to receive instructions, proactively obtain clarification as needed, and complete assignments independently and effectively
  • Ability to work effectively across departmental boundaries
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Must possess a valid U.S. drivers license and maintain a safe driving record, with the ability to report to any location within the service territory to perform job responsibilities

Desired

  • MBA, Masters of Science Degree or applicable advanced certification (e.g. PMI-PMP, PMI-PgMP,…)
  • Experience interfacing between IT and Lines of Business, and ability to effectively develop and implement solutions
  • Proficiency with GIS, SQL, AWS, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx and other data and analytical tool sets
