This position serves as a Circular Economy Analyst in the Department of Energys (DOE) Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office. AMMTOs mission is to support a globally competitive U.S. manufacturing sector that accelerates the adoption of innovative materials and manufacturing technologies in support of a clean, decarbonized economy. The position will support the Program manager Secure and Sustainable Materials in coordinating activities including, but not limited to, engagement with senior DOE and Congressional leaders, program and operational planning and execution, support of AMMTO strategic analysis efforts, analysis of industry and legislative developments on program direction, and will support AMMTOs efforts to drive energy, materials, and production efficiency, and decarbonization across the industrial sector.


Responsibilities:
  • Support the Secure and Sustainable Materials Team (SSM) program manager with the development, coordination, and management of the Circular Economy portfolio focusing on Product and Material Circularity in terms of Re-X pathways, that allow end of use or end of life products and materials to re-enter the economy: redesign, reuse, repair, refurbishment, remanufacture, repurpose, and recycle.
  • Provide technical assistance involving analysis, content generation, documentation, and progress assessments.
  • Tracking milestones and progress of driving synergies across various programs & projects especially with the integration and touchpoints across the portfolio of initiatives.
  • Review technical content, proposals, and participate in strategic planning activities as required.
  • Interface directly with collaborative bodies and to work in workshop settings as required.
  • Occasional travel to manufacturing / pilot facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Technical bachelors degree (M.S. or Ph.D. in relevant field is a plus).
  • Familiar with Advanced Materials and Manufacturing programs and technologies specifically SSM, Circular Economy (refer EERE/AMMTO programs website)
  • 5+ years experience preference is for Project / program management in a Circular economy setting.
  • Exceptional Organizing skills with ability to connect the dots and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn the technical aspects of the job quickly.
  • Good writing and editing skills, including plain language.
  • Ability to balance multiple long- and short-term projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative) and decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong interpersonal communication and team working skills.
  • Strong ability/interest in making connections and building collaborations.
  • Workshop moderation skills would be a big plus.

Work Arrangement:

This position is located in Golden, CO / Washington, DC and is a Hybrid Work Arrangement.

Benefits:
Boston Government Services offers a competitive total compensation package. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 401K, Long and Short-Term Disability. Starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $75,000 and $135,000 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
