Position Description

Assists with the development, implementation and administration of safety management prevention programs and with ensuring compliance with company and government regulations. Implements and maintains corporate safety policies, procedures and standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists with new hire safety training and other ongoing safety training

  • Assists with planning for and training safety improvement teams

  • Conducts safety analyses to identify, reduce and eliminate potential risk and liability

  • Assists in the investigation, documentation and reporting of accidents and injuries

  • Provides guidance to ensure compliance with governmental safety and health regulations through the inspection of the work environment, and equipment ensuring compliance with government and company standards

  • Collaborates with production and maintenance departments to solve problems concerning safety systems, personal protective equipment (PPE) or training needs

  • Ensures outside contractors, visitors, construction and repair personnel are aware of safety policies

  • Assists in the tracking and reporting of key safety metrics

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Job Skills Requirements

  • Working knowledge of safety engineering, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, manufacturing processes, electrical systems, building codes and regulations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong investigative, problem-solving and decision-making skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks/projects and meet deadlines

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

  • Strong medical background, CPR/AED/FA Certified, assist in maintaining supply stock for care and treatment of minor injuries


Preferred Skills

  • OSHA 30 training

  • Strong Computer skills, experience with Google Suite

Education

Associates Degree in Related field or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements

Minimum of one year experience in safety, facilities maintenance or related field
