Whats the job?

This Regional Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing all purchasing and compliance functions for their home facility. This position will perform all purchasing activity, negotiate payment terms, and negotiate contracts for both goods and services. This role will need to focus on cost savings, implementation and adherence to global compliance, timely ordering and inventory management for raw materials, and utilization of digital tools while providing timely service to our internal customers. This role will oversee 2 Purchasing Agents and 5 sites in Roofings Southeast Region.

Plant Purchasing Responsibilities:

  • Act as both a tactical and strategic Purchaser for the site and business unit.
  • Coordinate and lead all site-level RFPs for both local and CapEx purchases (per the requirements definition phase) which includes vendor negotiations through to the contract signature (if applicable) and PO creation.
  • Engage the plants technical teams early in the buying process to ensure compliance with purchasing methodology (6E).
  • Foster site compliance regarding the North American Purchasing Policy [NAPP], Purchasings Internal Controls Reference Framework [ICRF], Gift Policy, and Credit Card [P-Card] Policy.
  • Identify and manage cross-site and cross-business synergy opportunities to leverage negotiations and contracts
  • Ensure all purchases over $35k are launched through ProSource and are accompanied by the Supplier Charter.
  • Upload and audit all contracts in ProcureNet.
  • Drive compliance for MRO and AGORA at the site level.
  • Prioritize cost savings initiatives at the site(s).
  • Plan and execute purchases for raw materials and resale items and monitor inventories appropriately.
  • Process purchase orders and notify vendors for requested materials, parts, and services which may include contract preparation, SGCT Drug & Alcohol Policy, and other requirements.
  • Oversee bid walks/meetings with project managers and contractors.
  • Convene monthly meetings with plant requisitioners, engineers, and department managers to determine purchasing assistance and requirements.
  • Hold regular training sessions with plant staff regarding Purchasing procedures.
  • Evaluate spend and develop a portfolio to determine which vendors should be contracted along with an action plan.
  • Resolve invoice and GRIR issues promptly by working with the vendor, AP, project managers, and requisitioners.
  • Review monthly purchase orders, changes, and discrepancies with the plant manager.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are closed timely and reviewed weekly for accuracy.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring all training is up to date for new hires in the region.
  • Ensures region is compliant with Purchasing Policies and use of Digital Tools.
  • Promotes goal achievement and drives the development of direct reports.
  • Reports to the Roofing Purchasing Manager monthly regarding the regions performance.
  • Oversee sub-projects for the Purchasing Department.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.

Travel & Other Responsibilities:

  • Remote site visits. Site audits of vendors and/or vendor tours when necessary.
  • Required attendance at specific events such as Buy-Techs, audits, events, and departmental staff meetings.
  • Need to be at facilities in case of emergencies or projects.
  • Conduct 1-on1 meetings with direct report(s).
  • Participate in monthly purchasing activities review with RPG Purchasing Operations Manager.
  • Participate in plant-level meetings as defined in the operations cadence.


WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?


What do you bring?

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in Procurement, Leadership, or Project Management with proven success.
  • Strong self-starter, organized, analytical, and able to handle multiple projects at a given time.
  • Proven experience as a leader who can manage pressure/stress, foster change, and work with a dynamic group of people.
  • Ability to conduct activities confidentially and securely.
  • Prioritization skills are required as this position is required to determine the demands to procure materials and services for multiple users.
  • Strong background in being service-orientated and sensitive to customer needs.
  • Strong communication skills and professional manner to interact with internal and external contacts daily.
  • Ability to be highly confident in the ability to present the company to customers, vendors, and other visitors.
