Accountabilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • adding and adjusting chemical treatment systems
  • reading meters and gauges
  • making chemical tests, greasing, and oiling equipment.
  • Operating of company water filtration and treatment plants.
  • Receives and supervises water treatment chemical deliveries.
  • Determines if machinery and equipment are operating properly and, where necessary, makes minor repairs. Collects and records operational information.
  • Completes work in accordance with all safety rules.
  • Knowledge includes general background of main pumping station operation.
  • Basic operating knowledge of pumps, motors, water treatment, and other miscellaneous equipment related to the operation of pumping stations.


Education and Experience

  • Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be computer literate and able to learn and work with company computer systems and software. Must be able to read instrumentation and water quality equipment.
  • Must possess or obtain a NY State Health Department Grade 2B Water Operators license within 1 year.
  • Work Environment: Production Department Facilities throughout the service territory.
  • The work involves shift type work, which can include work on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays as scheduled and emergency call-out.

Hourly rate is $36.88.
