ESS is looking for a motivated, hard-working Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Inspector to join our team. The QA/QC Inspector to inspect, test, and sample materials, parts, and products for defects and any deviations from specifications. They will also develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for ongoing development and manufacturing of products. This position is responsible for making sure that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials and processes. An important part of this position involves designing the company’s quality standards and testing processes against those criteria.

What youll do at ESS.

  • Testing to identify product durability and areas of weakness.
  • Working to ensure raw materials and component parts meet the companys quality standards.
  • Ensuring that equipment and processes follow predetermined quality standards.
  • Analyzing issues found or reported, giving feedback, maintaining records, and implementing changes to manufacturing when necessary.
  • Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products.
  • Serve as the primary quality assurance resource to department supervisor(s) for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.
  • Assist in process certification.
  • Review customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
  • Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Review suppliers purchase orders and establish supplier quality requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Serve as the quality assurance representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB).
  • May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
  • To conduct inspection of all ongoing activities for installations.
  • To conduct inspections for all material deliveries.
  • To attend all inspections with client/contractor representatives.
  • To submit inspection requests in coordination with concerned site/project engineers.
  • Prepare daily QA/QC report regarding inspections, material, Non conformances etc.
  • Prepare weekly surveillance reports, non-conformance reports and verification of corrective actions.
  • Check the drawings and documents used at site for approvals and compliance with project requirements.Ensure that all works are carried out as per the approved method statements and drawings.
  • Ensure that all equipment used are calibrated and with valid certificates.
  • Assist / coordinate the preparation of the final handing over documents such as QCQA documents, testing and commissioning reports etc.
  • Preparation of testing and commissioning method statements in coordination with vendors.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems.
  • Construct and perform reliability tests on various key system components.
  • Work with mechanical and electrical engineers to assemble batteries and other mechanical systems.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and P&IDs.

What you bring to the table.

Minimum requirements:

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Extended experience working in a manufacturing and production facility.
  • Ability to read and understand Blueprints.
  • Understanding and training in the tools required for the position.
  • Well organized, with a strong emphasis on attention to details.
  • Proficient with basic shop tools (CNC, lathe, drill press, hand tools, etc.).
  • Use basic measuring equipment (calipers, height gauge, micrometer, etc.) to inspect parts and assemblies according to mechanical drawings.
  • Record test results and perform basic calculations.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions and record results.
  • Perform in-process inspections steps to ensure the quality of the work performed and the functionality of the component and/or module.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory as it applies to renewable energies.
