Solar Consultant

Alternative Energy Southeast uses consultative sales practices which is where the title Solar Consultant is derived. This is our customers main contact for the design and sales process. This person will demonstrate technical aptitude, sincerity, confidence and a high degree of professionalism. They will work to build strong relationships with our clients, set realistic customer expectations and properly represent the AES brand. The Solar Consultant will spend much of their time meeting with potential customers at the prospective job locations, generating proposals, composing phone calls and emails and CLOSING deals. They will be the first face of AES that clients will see and great first impressions are of utmost importance.

Responsibilities

  • Generate proposals and answer questions customers may ask about them
  • Create code compliant PV module layouts using computer software
  • Remain knowledgeable of our financing options
  • Meet sales goals set by the Sales Manager
  • Represent AES at events to drive lead generation
  • Stay up to date on the solar industry (product offerings, code changes, market trends, etc)
  • Strict adherence to our sales SOP including proper use of our CRM
  • Attend weekly sales meetings (generally virtual)
  • Perform preliminary site visits and perform assessments pertaining to scope of work (costs) to be sure the contracted price accounts for them.

Requirements

  • Must have technical and mathematical skills
  • Must have communication skills and be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must demonstrate analytical, logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have proficient computer, typing, Zoom and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Consistent and prompt attendance to meetings is critical.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening requirements.
  • Bachelors degree (preferred but not required)
  • Attend 1.5 events per month on average (18 per year) to self-generate leads
