RINA is currently recruiting for a Marine Consulting Americas Region Project Manager to join its office in Sunrise, FL within the Consulting Division
Mission
The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for executing and leading projects, ensuring completion of deliverables within the defined deadlines, scope, and budget. The Project Manager stands at the center of a complex set of relationships among the client, RINA, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors who deliver the elements of the project. The skill of balancing the demands and expectations of these groups lies at the heart of a successful project. The Project Manager is accountable for obtaining and managing adequate resources to meet all project objectives in the most efficient and effective manner.
Key Accountabilities
1. Project Management:
  • Develop project plans outlining the scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Create and maintain project schedules.

2. Client Interaction:

  • Commercial interaction with clients
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the consulting engineering firm and the client.
  • Understand client requirements and expectations.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to clients.

3. Team Management:

  • Assemble and lead a project team.
  • Assign tasks to team members based on their skills and expertise.
  • Motivate and manage team members to achieve project goals.

4. Budget Management:

  • Develop project budgets and ensure that projects are delivered within budget constraints.
  • Monitor project expenses and financial performance.

5. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address issues that may impact project delivery.

6. Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that the project meets quality standards and client expectations.
  • Implement and enforce quality control processes.

7. Contract Management:

  • Understand and manage contract terms and conditions.
  • Ensure that the project complies with contractual obligations.

8. Communication:

  • Facilitate communication between team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to discuss progress, issues, and solutions.

9. Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Naval Engineering
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of people on projects of moderate size/complexity and/or multiple projects simultaneously with a solid track record of successfully leading projects from initiation to completion on time, on budget, and within scope, including resource management across disciplines
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Engineering Knowledge:
    • Proficiency understanding of engineering concepts and calculations.
    • Ability to collaborate with engineers and technical experts.
    • Ensure accurate incorporation of engineering calculations into project plans
    • Ship design and naval architecture

    • Propulsion systems

    • Risk analysis

    • Decarbonization projects and ship energy management

    • Advanced structural analyses

    • Fluid dynamics and seakeeping analyse

    • Marine Schemes

    • Regulatory Compliance

  • Team Management:
    • Proven experience in assembling and leading project teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to assign tasks based on team members’ skills, motivate the team, and manage them effectively.
  • Software Skills:
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
    • Familiarity with engineering software is a plus.
