Purpose

The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operational performance of facilities under their supervision. This role involves supervising Technicians, conducting hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspections. The Site Supervisor ensures compliance with safety, environmental regulations, and other regulatory requirements.

Accountabilities

Site Supervision:

  • Support Libertys Safety Program
  • Support the Regional Manager in ensuring compliance with supplier, operations and asset management contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate site generation schedules with contractors, Algonquin Power, and lead market participants.
  • Assist with company insurance claims related to facilities.
  • Monitor compliance and process filings for NERC and FERC regulations.
  • Accountable for the financial performance of the facility on a daily basis.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate equipment manuals and develop maintenance checklists and schedules.
  • Perform troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
  • Directly supervise Technicians and oversee contractors activities at the facilities.
  • Provide on-site support for company-operated Solar projects, covering vacation periods and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in remote weekend monitoring of company-operated sites on a rotational basis.

Planning & Scheduling:

  • Plan and schedule staff and contractor activities to maximize revenue.
  • Coordinate and schedule major equipment maintenance to minimize downtime impact on revenue.
  • Arrange necessary owner training to meet company objectives.
  • Track production losses and unusually high maintenance costs and develop plans to mitigate them.
  • Execute all monitoring requirements at the facility.

Support:

  • Assist in developing annual budget requirements and manage the facilities within approved budget parameters.
  • Manage waste disposal in compliance with applicable laws.

Relationship Management:

  • Interface with other departments to provide necessary information and support.
  • Engage with OEMs as required.
  • Engage with external agencies as required.
  • Address landowner concerns and manage payments as needed.

Education and Experience

  • 5-10 years of related experience.
  • 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations related to solar operations.
  • Familiarity with solar generating equipment construction, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of NERC and FERC regulations pertaining to solar generation.
  • Proficient in solar facility operations.
  • Solid grasp of budgeting and cost control practices.
  • Strong leadership and supervision capabilities.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and exercise good judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • College diploma in Electromechanical, Electrical Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or equivalent field experience.
  • Knowledge of corporate and industry safety standards and practices.
