CALSTART provides scientific, technical and policy support for regulatory development and clean technology and infrastructure acceleration.

The Electric School Bus Communications Intern will play a crucial role in coordinating and executing creative projects that support our Electric School Bus Network. They will work with CALSTART’s Electric School Bus Team to design digital media assets that can inform our engaged stakeholders on electric school bus adoption.

This is a part-time remote role that will be 10-20 hours per week for 3 months with the possibility of an extension.

What You’ll Do

  • The Electric School Bus Communications Intern will assist in developing the school bus team’s educational resources, which include video content, motion designs, graphics, and other visual communication tools.
  • Work with Technical Project Managers to identify what is needed for educational resource development.
  • Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and milestones.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on creative deliverables, ensuring they meet the Electric School Bus Network brand standards.
  • Assist in the organization and management of digital assets using Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.

What You’ll Bring To The Table

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premier Pro, Storyboarding, Project Coordination, and Visual Communication.
  • The ideal candidate will understand project management tools, be passionate about creative processes and cross-functional collaboration, have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and be interested in accelerating the adoption of electric school buses across the country.

$16 – $21 an hour

CALSTART values transparency and strives to provide as much information regarding compensation as possible. Pay for this role will typically be from $18-$21 per hour as we determine pay based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
