Summary:

Enersponse is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our growing product department. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base into new energy markets and enhancing our suite of tools. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing data to address business needs in Finance, Product, Strategy, and Energy Markets.

Compensation: Full-time salary.

Job Overview:

This description has requirements for experiences but please don’t see this as a limitation. A person with genuine data skills and an interest in climate and energy markets is preferred!

Quantitative skills

  • Academic or professional training in statistical methods, including regression analysis, variance analysis, forecasting, and descriptive statistics
  • Moderate to strong proficiency coding in Python and querying data using SQL
  • Experience conducting end-to-end data analysis, from requirements gathering, to planning, data gathering, to data cleaning, analysis, QC, and summary reporting
  • Experience using data visualization tools to summarize findings and visually show key take-aways
  • Knowledge of best practices of using a code repository and an integrated development environment (IDE)
  • Focus on delivering quality results, data integrity and QA/QC
  • Transparency, repeatability, documentation
  • Adherence to data security practices
  • Base-level experience doing peer code reviews and coaching of junior staff
  • Demonstrated expertise using business tools
  • Microsoft and Google suite
  • Keeper of clean spreadsheets
  • Author of compelling slides and write-ups
  • Best practices for using suite of communications tools to solve differing needs, across instant messaging, email, and video conferencing

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide output reports.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Clean and review data to correct code problems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Define and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in energy markets, product and engineering, accounts and finance, and sales.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related quantitative field. Alternative forms of education and technical experience are acceptable.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in analyst-type role. (Preference for experience within the energy industry.)
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and querying.
  • Experience with statistical methods, regression analysis, variance analysis, forecasting, and descriptive statistics.
  • Ability to conduct end-to-end data analysis, including planning, data gathering, cleaning, analysis, QC, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools to summarize findings.
  • Knowledge of best practices in using code repositories and integrated development environments (IDE).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate decisions and provide constructive feedback.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
