Job Title: Head of Engineering (Energy Storage)

Location: Remote, US

Travel: 15%

About the Company:

Our client is a leading developer in the renewable energy sector, focused on advancing power generation and storage systems nationwide.

About the Role:

As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the design and engineering of energy solutions for renewable energy and energy storage projects. This includes supervising electrical design tasks, managing grid interconnection processes, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead energy solution design and engineering for renewable energy and energy storage projects.
  • Supervise SLDs, diagrams, arrangements, load flow studies, and engineering studies per industry standards.
  • Develop and update electrical design packages, including protection schemes, relay settings, UPS & Emergency Power Systems, wiring diagrams, sizing, specifications, and layouts.
  • Manage interconnection for utility-scale generators, solar PV, and energy storage.
  • Prepare RFPs and RFIs, facilitating information flow within the team.
  • Coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors for tech selection, implementation, and commissioning.
  • Lead DFMEAs, FATs, and SATs with internal and external teams.
  • Maintain knowledge of current electrical codes, regulations, and standards.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s in electrical engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years in power generation, energy storage, and distribution design.
  • Strong knowledge of CSA, NFPA, NEC, UL standards.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP.
