The Job

This is a great part-time opportunity to join a company that is building a new business model in the solar industry.

The Commercial Solar Performance Associate will have primary responsibility for the operational health and performance of a growing portfolio of commercial solar projects. This role will identify and resolve performance issues with commercial solar systems and provide technical support assistance to clients and service technicians who call in on weekends.

The qualified candidate is experienced with solar energy, has some experience with monitoring platforms and solar data analysis and has demonstrated a track record of excellent customer service and client communications. This role requires a self-starter skilled at managing multiple tasks and priorities, working across daily routine tasks as well as innovative projects.

This is a 16-hr per week part-time role working Saturday and Sunday (with optional holidays). You’ll be working alongside one other colleague most weekends.

What You’ll Do

Weekend Technical Support

  • Provide critical weekend support for monitoring and alerting, including fielding calls from technicians during site visits for technical support and DAS portal verifications
  • Support client and site host customer communications, manage communications with field service technicians, and assist in resolving escalated issues

Monitoring, Issue Management, and Service Coordination

  • Become proficient in various solar monitoring platforms, including Omnidian’s platform
  • Proactively identify and manage asset issues, create issue cases/tickets, notify clients of these issues, and provide corrective action recommendations
  • Assist the Performance Specialist in resolving alerts efficiently
  • Open and diligently track tickets to ensure detected issues are resolved
  • Collaborate asynchronously with the Performance Manager and Portfolio Operations Managers to ensure timely closure of all issues

Continuous Process Improvement

  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying, documenting, and adopting best practices and standardized procedures
  • Help pinpoint features and enhancements for Omnidian’s proprietary platform to optimize its functionality and user experience

  • You are highly organized and meticulous, with a strong ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of handling high levels of communication both written and verbal
  • You remain focused and productive when handling tasks that may be repetitive
  • You are adept at managing multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure
  • You have a passion for learning new skills and concepts and are quick to adapt to the changing needs of the business and our team

Experience You’ll Need

  • 6 months of experience in the solar energy industry
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, G Suite, and CRM applications like Zendesk or Salesforce
  • Familiarity with monitoring solar DAS platforms and interpreting solar system design drawings

Experience That’s a Plus

  • Some experience with Commercial solar (in operations and maintenance, asset management, field service management, or account management)
