As an Energy Manager you will have the opportunity to partner with leaders throughout the organization. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by providing oversight of the Company’s energy risk management program. So, what will you be doing as an Energy Manager?

  • Manage the global sourcing strategy of electricity, natural gas, fuel oil, steam, water, renewables, and energy advisory services.
  • Provide leadership oversight and administration of the Company’s energy risk management program with the support of business partners and third-party energy procurement advisors.
  • Provide high quality energy market intelligence and analysis to key business partners to support operational decision-making.
  • Develop and execute an energy management strategy in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders to support robust energy-efficiency initiatives and carbon reduction goals.
  • Define, implement and communicate a clear strategy, roles and responsibilities at local, regional and global le vel for the procurement of various renewable energy options including renewable energy certificates, virtual power purchase agreements (VPPA) and on-site low carbon technology.
  • Manage third party service providers to source energy and identify and implement energy-efficiency projects.
  • Apply in-depth Energy and Utility-specific knowledge to propose recommendations to enhance existing and/or introduce new procurement processes or service capabilities that align with and support our corporate energy and sustainability goals.
  • Work with Corporate Procurement to lead the execution and optimization of Category Management Strategy, Contract Risk and Stakeholder Management, Supplier Relationship, etc.

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Procurement, or similar certifications in energy management is preferred
  • Experience implementing statistical methodologies and software tools to assess and reduce energy and cost risk, developing, and implementing energy management plans resulting in risk and cost reduction
  • Experience in energy modeling, energy trading, and energy financial modeling
  • Experience in negotiating utility rates (both tariff rates and transmission level wholesale rates), power purchase agreements, energy contracts and/or energy retail rates
  • Knowledge of energy-efficiency opportunities in manufacturing, domestic and global energy markets and regulations, and energy management system standards is a plus
  • Direct experience with sourcing and contracting utility scale renewable power purchase agreements (i.e., virtual, direct off-take) and Procurement Environmental Sustainability program management is preferred
