We are actively seeking Energy Regulatory Attorneys located anywhere in the United States with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy law in an in-house setting, focusing on regulatory compliance and policy.
  • Experience in traditional (oil and gas) and renewable energy sectors (solar, wind, etc.).
  • Substantive knowledge of federal and state energy regulations, including FERC, NERC, EPA, and state public utility commissions.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to energy projects.
  • JD Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active bar license in good standing in Texas.
  • Epiq Counsel partners with industry-leading clients in support of their sophisticated interim talent needs. Must be interested in practicing in an alternative, fixed-term legal services model.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with environmental law and regulations.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy incentives, tax credits, and funding mechanisms.

Support our multinational corporate clients on the following:

  • Dynamic project work that varies in length and is conducted remotely or hybrid depending on client needs.
  • Variable hours in a consultancy role; commitment may range from part-time to full-time based on project requirements.
  • Provide expert legal advice on regulatory matters related to oil, gas, solar, and clean energy projects.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local energy regulations and policies.
  • Represent the company in regulatory proceedings, hearings, and negotiations with regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments and legislative changes affecting the energy sector.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to energy projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including project development, operations, and finance, to support regulatory and compliance initiatives.
  • Advise on environmental regulations and compliance related to energy projects.
  • Participate in industry associations and advocacy groups to influence policy and regulatory outcomes.
  • Conduct legal research and provide training on regulatory compliance and best practices.
  • Professional immersion in diverse corporate cultures and industries.
