Summary:

The Project Manager II is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects while partnering with key stakeholders to ensure timelines and deliveries of customer projects are executed flawlessly. The Project Manager II ensures that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, and meet the quality standards of the organization.

Job Details:

  • Partner with key project stakeholders to drive the design and development of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) projects with key customers; finding the right balance between customer and business needs
  • Communicate limitations clearly, manage expectations proactively, and establish a working plan with our customers and our internal team to drive customer satisfaction
  • Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, discuss issues, and make decisions; escalating project issues as needed
  • Develop customer relationships that promote retention and future business opportunities
  • Responsible for actively driving towards target project margin and schedule
  • Facilitate effective team dynamics among the project team for effective delivery of a high-quality customer experience
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project
  • Ensure proper management of customer project development
  • Interface with Legal and Finance resources as necessary for effective management of budget and risk; including drafting of any required notices, change orders and/or certificates
  • Manage project budget ensuring timely issuance of invoicing and revenue receiving
  • Work closely with the project team on the preparation of key monthly reports, develop, maintain required tracking and reporting data files
  • Control, collect and archive project documentation (contracts, invoices, scope changes, etc..) and site documentation (daily reports, non-conformity reports, transport plans, lifting plans, bill of lading etc.)
  • Analyze project performance against key metrics and make recommendations for improvements
  • Mentor and coach junior project team members, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies based on lessons learned
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration or equivalent education and experience
  • 4-7 years’ related work experience in a project management role
  • Energy storage, distributed generation, data center equipment, renewable energy, or large-scale electrical equipment experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience with ProCore or other Construction Management software
  • PMP or an equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience handling a complex customer environment and understand a complex product definition and delivery process
  • Experience in Contract and Scope Negotiation, Customer Requirements definition, Project Development
  • Familiarity with RFPs, as well as construction management terminology and principles
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, works with a sense of urgency
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to act quickly and work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to think outside the box when faced with challenges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, some experience with MS Project (or other scheduling software)
  • Ability to travel as needed for business
