Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that pilot scale testing of separation technology is completed on time to meet U.S. Department of Energy-funded project deadlines. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with others both inside and outside of AIChE and maintaining compliance with company policies.
This position will be located onsite at Argonne National Laboratories in Lemont, IL (Chicagoland area) from September- December 2024. The candidate should have access to reliable transportation to Argonne to conduct their work.
Responsibilities
In this role, the intern will conduct research related to separations materials and technologies for clean energy technologies. Work will focus on pilot scale testing of adsorption and/or membrane-based separations processes. This research will be conducted as part of a multidisciplinary and collaborative team of scientists and engineers. Primary responsibilities may include separations experiments, the operation of laboratory equipment, and analytical analysis.

Competencies
The ideal candidate will have some of the following desired qualifications and skills{{:}} basic wet chemistry methods; experience with analytical chemistry instrumentation (chromatographic and/or spectroscopic analysis); knowledge of physical and chemical processes, specifically separations; strong oral and written communication skills.
