Commissioning Engineer

My client is looking for several Commissioning specialist experienced in solar / PV / Battery / Energy storage systems to join their team on a long term contract basis. Full per diem and extras will be provided.

The Commissioning Specialist collaborates with Project Managers, Engineers and vendors to ensure seamless project start-ups. Responsibilities encompass inspections, performance testing, troubleshooting, compliance negotiations, and preparing detailed commissioning reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and outline commissioning requirements for each project.
• Develop and communicate commissioning schedules to the project team.
• Perform site inspections and evaluate system performance.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment issues during start-up.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive commissioning reports to third parties, AHJs, and internal teams.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to design efficient processes, adapt to changing priorities, and resolve challenges.
• 5+ years of experience in outdoor construction.
• 2+ years of experience in renewable energy technology.
• 1+ years of experience in storage system technology.
• 2+ years of experience with control systems and programming controllers.
• 1+ years of experience with HVAC systems.
• 1+ years of experience with IT communication protocols and tools.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Schedule).
• Hands-on experience with wiring, mechanical assembly, and operating test equipment.
• Solid understanding of construction and engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives.
• OSHA 10 and NEC70E certifications are advantageous.

Experience of Solar PV / BESS / Energy Storage systems is highly preferred.
