Summary:

The Manager Test and Reliability Engineering will oversee a team of technical experts and engineers tasked with building test, reliability and failure analysis programs aimed at managing asset reliability risks and targeted quality improvements in product and process. This role will work to empower existing teams, to achieve company and department initiatives. The Manager Test and Reliability Engineering will be responsible for creation of process, task management, prioritization, reporting and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) generation while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align with companywide initiatives. Strong people and process management skills, as well as a proven ability to drive projects to completion, on time and within budget and timeline constraints, are keys to success for this role.

Job Details:

  • Develop and implement internal processes to effectively implement test, reliability and root cause/failure analysis programs
  • Enable technical experts to achieve company and department goals through prioritization and process support
  • Lead FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis) programs to support new product development and product root cause analysis
  • Oversee the development of Test and Reliability Plans and standards to support new and existing product programs
  • Work cross functionally with engineering, operations and service/commissioning groups to provide standardized reporting and issue tracking to support product improvement and asset service forecasting
  • Support Reliability lab implementation of subassembly/subsystem/system, qualifications, and life test programs
  • Drive DFR (design for reliability) initiatives with design teams
  • Collaborate with Product Engineers to qualify products and provide key reliability metrics during development and in post-development stages
  • Drive Powin’s reliability initiatives and provide support to hardware design teams, manufacturing, QC, and other stakeholders on issues relating to reliability
  • Support design validation and reports for product test and resolution of issues relating to hardware product failure and root cause analysis
  • Contribute to New Product Development (NPD) process to ensure reliability concerns are addressed
  • Provide clear test schedules, identify risk and help drive mitigation with test management
  • Issue product qualification and evaluation project summaries
  • Prioritize failure analysis activities to determine root causes and partner with QA to support 8D failure analysis reports
  • Standardize and oversee the generation and issuing of component and unit level reliability reports
  • Conduct periodic and scheduled reviews of all systems and applications to discover inefficiencies and prepare a plan to remediate or mitigate them
  • Manage development of reliability test profiles including environment test, HALT, HASS, ALT, and other test methodologies for the analysis of hardware components and sub-assemblies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in product development, testing, reliability or quality programs
  • 2+ years experience managing engineering teams
  • Solid understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Accelerated testing concepts
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with and leading at multiple levels within an organization
  • Ability to maximize productivity in a reliability environment in a constantly changing environment of shifting priorities
  • Ability to work cross functionally, explain designs and concepts to others with different backgrounds/degrees
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid analytical, and problem-solving skills and can work independently and manage the workload of multiple projects and tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams
  • Limited travel requirements
