Job Description

We are looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer to work with the team of engineers developing the energy storage and power distribution system for an electric eVTOL aircraft. You will be responsible for the integration, testing and design-verification of low voltage and high voltage power distribution aspects into the larger energy storage system and into the aircraft as a whole. This position is onsite to support our client in Mountain View, CA. Onsite support at the Fremont facility and the Hollister facility may be required occasionally.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, system, mechanical, system test to ensure the company’s Power Management, Distribution and Charging (PMDC) and other electronics in the energy storage and power system (ESPS) meet system requirements and certification criterion.
  • Participate in the design, developing and qualification testing of the aircraft’s low voltage and high voltage protection and distribution system.
  • Specify test milestones and create test plans to support integration of the ESPS electronics into the aircraft (component > sub-system > system).
  • Participate in the design, development and test of the high voltage battery management systems. Participate in the optimization of weight savings throughout the ESPS electrical power, protection and distribution system.
  • Work with system test team to specify and consolidate tech benches/rigs needed to support integration tests. Identify test resources and equipment necessary to perform the test.

Hands-on / electrical lab experience:

  • Be willing and able to design and build (with support from technicians) test harnesses and fixtures (ex. breakout box) if needed.
