Job Title: Managing Director
Position Overview: Join a growing team in Boston and collaborate with offices worldwide on international energy transition projects. As a senior member of the team, you’ll be involved in originating and executing impactful transactions, leading financial structuring, debt raising, and M&A transactions. You’ll be the primary contact for prospects, clients, stakeholders, and the team, using your analytical skills and entrepreneurial mindset for innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate financial advisory missions in the energy transition by leveraging and expanding your business network in the US.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Manage advisory missions related to financial structuring, bank and institutional debts, debt raising, and M&A equity finance transactions.
- Lead interactions with clients, banks, and stakeholders.
- Supervise financial analysts in developing and managing financial models and cash flow valuations for renewable energy projects.
- Oversee due diligence processes.
- Gather market intelligence on relevant sectors like electricity, debt, and venture capital markets.
- Obtain and maintain US securities licensing (SIE, Series 79, Series 82, Series 63, Series 24) sponsored by the company’s broker-dealer affiliate.
- Become a registered principal of the US broker-dealer.
- Share knowledge, build networks, and lead business development.
- Participate actively in a dynamic, international team focused on delivering high-quality results.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in finance or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in investment banking or the renewables sector.
- Demonstrated interest in energy transition.
- Leadership experience in the energy transition industry with a broad network.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and products.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Initiative, ownership, and accountability.
- Willingness to work in cross-border teams and travel abroad.
- Empathy and understanding of stakeholders’ needs and aspirations.
- Additional language skills (Portuguese, French, German, Dutch, Chinese, or Japanese) are a plus.
