Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Assemble machine parts and components.
  • Install and test completed machines to ensure proper functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems related to the new equipment being developed.
  • Make modifications to machined parts as needed to troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and solve issues.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Provide occasional support to plant maintenance staff as requested by the Plant Manager.
  • Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • Wiring in electrical and hydraulic components that will form the control system, including laying out and wiring the complete electrical control panel (PLCs, VFDs, Contactors, Relays, etc.).
  • Ability to make modifications to parts using the following equipment: mill, saw, grinder, welder, and lathe.
  • Electro-mechanical knowledge, electrical schematics, mechanical drawing, and dimensional annotation comprehension.
  • Ability to understand and read various Programmable Logic Controllers programs (PLCs).
  • Ability to work with complex industrial equipment.
  • Degree in electrical engineering, industrial automation, or a related field preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Years of Experience: 3+ years
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in machine building or a related field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial machines.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to walk long distances.
  • Able to work at elevated heights.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
