Job Functions (Essential)
  • Negotiate, plan, initiate, and manage supplier development projects and ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope
  • Plan and conduct logistic development workshops onsite at the supplier’s location
  • Work with the supply base to identify and improve suppliers with performance, capacity, and delivery challenges
  • Arrange and conduct plant audits and determine supplier capabilities and recommend opportunities for improvement
  • Develop supplier improvement plans for suppliers that cannot meet our needs and support change initiatives. Create alternatives and options for supplier performance issues
  • Analyze supplier capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine if they have the ability to meet our requirements
  • Create and maintain performance metrics that track how individual and collective supplier are meeting our needs
  • Review potential new suppliers to determine capabilities and ability to meet our needs
  • Keep management and project members informed of the project status, schedules, meetings and problems (or potential problems) on a regular basis
  • Provide training and information to internal and external personnel as needed
  • Input, audit and reconcile supplier information into Logistics computer system
  • Support Rolls-Royce Solutions Americas continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of a standardized process approach utilizing common forms, measurements, and structure
  • Maintain open communication between internal departments, management, and suppliers
  • Performs special projects on time and within budget
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
  • Perform special projects as required.

Qualifications:

Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Business Administration and 5 years of experience in materials management, planning/scheduling or supplier development/audits; or 9 years of experience in materials management, planning/scheduling or supplier development/audits
  • Minimum of 1 year’s project leadership experience, directing and coordinating the activities of others
  • Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in supply chain management, strategic planning, resource allocation, customer service, production methods, information technology and coordination of people and resources
  • Excellent knowledge of modern inventory management principles
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, when problems are complex
  • Excellent organizational, planning and follow up skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent skills in SAP/R3 or SAP Hana
  • Strong understanding of computer applications and/or controlled systems
  • Strong level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  • Must be available to work all shifts and/or flexible hours. Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

Preferred:

  • Familiar with plant operations/equipment and engine related components.
  • Experience with plant auditing for performance and capacity
  • Familiar with low volume supplier challenges.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine manufacturing
  • Knowledge of MTU products, policies and procedures
