The Department of Natural Resources is actively seeking a visionary and results-driven leader to assume the role of Director of the Office of Energy Development. The selected candidate will report directly to the executive director of the Utah Department of Natural Resources on critical energy matters within the state.
Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:
As director of the Office of Energy Development, you will be at the forefront of implementing the state’s energy policy and advancing Utahs key energy objectives. In close collaboration with state agencies, legislative and executive branches of government, the Director will lead the strategic planning, promotion, and regulation of energy development initiatives across the state. This pivotal role involves seeking federal grants or loans, participating in federal programs, and administering federally funded state energy programs in line with applicable federal guidelines. The director will exercise considerable discretion and judgment in providing recommendations on energy-related issues and will represent the state at various board and commission meetings, offering insights and guidance while staying abreast of emerging energy issues.
