Trucent Renewable Chemicals seeks a dynamic and successful Sales Manager to join their growing team. Created in 2020 as subsidiary of Trucent, Inc. a 25-year-old leader in sustainability solutions across North America, Trucent Renewables uses the most advanced technology to produce oleochemicals from a variety of vegetable oils. Our proprietary process allows us to produce a wide range of chemistries that offer our customers the ability to develop custom blends that best suit their needs. Moreover, this is all accomplished by way of a process that is uniquely sustainable, producing fewer greenhouse gases and using less water than conventional production methods. Depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, the Sales Manager may bear responsibility for a geographic territory including multiple states, a particular product line, a target market, or a hybrid of the three.

The Sales Manager will play a vital role in selling innovative fatty acid and specialty oleochemical solutions to achieve business group and company sales and profitability goals. Driven by market demand, this effective sales leader will actively identify and develop sales leads to close business. The primary focus of the role will be hunting and closing new account business while managing relationships with existing customers to renew contracts and expand Trucent’s product footprint

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Directly sell complex fatty acids and specialty chemicals to new and existing customers in a multi-state geographic territory, to a specific industry or vertical, and/or within a specific product line.
  • Develop and execute upon both short-term and long-term sales strategy and plans with an emphasis on growing market share and to ensure sales goals are met.
  • Manage a dynamic sales cycle including robust lead generation, facilitating effective sales meetings and presentations, providing superior technical consultations, drafting comprehensive sales proposals, negotiating and closing new business.
  • Perform customer needs analysis and develop solutions to meet the needs.
  • Facilitate communications between Trucent and customers across multiple levels of both organizations.
  • Draft contracts and successfully negotiate terms on a timely basis.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to ensure maximum customer retention.
  • Track all leads, customers, prospects, etc. using CRM software to ensure maximum market penetration and follow-up.
  • Ensure sales reports, including forecasts and budgets, are accurate, timely, and relevant to effectively drive sales.
  • Initiate and utilize direct market research to determine industry trends and customer needs, identify target markets, and design pricing models to develop effective business plans and optimize the business group’s products.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Manager and Marketing to augment and implement marketing strategies and utilize advertising, press releases, promotional campaigns, trade shows, etc. when appropriate.
  • Attend trade shows to identify and advance new sales leads and to maintain relationships with existing customers.
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts with Lab to analyze customer technical needs and to develop customer solutions when appropriate.
  • Liaise with Engineering Services, Operations, and Administration to advance sales opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties or special projects.
  • Comply with all aspects of the Trucent safety program, including but not limited to: hazard communication, PPE requirements and attending quarterly safety training.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics.

Position Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, business, marketing, or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 15 years’ experience selling specialty chemicals to both new and existing customers.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Keen knowledge of customer requirements and current market conditions and trends specifically related to chemical products and applications.
  • Advanced sales and customer service skills. Proven track record of sales achievement beyond target or quota. History of high customer retention rate ideal.
  • Keen ability to develop and execute upon sales plans.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills at an advanced level.
  • High capacity for learning and understanding the demand for oleochemicals, specifically their chemistry and applications.
  • Capacity to develop written proposals to capture all critical components of the sale.
  • Proven entrepreneurial spirit and goal-oriented attitude with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Robust networking skills to successfully identify new sales leads and advance customer relationships.
  • High degree of diplomacy and the ability to deal with and influence people in all types of positions within Trucent, new accounts, and existing customers.
  • Ability to initiate action and solve problems logically and effectively.
  • Perform reading and writing at an intermediate level.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and software skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel in North America on company business 50%-75%.
