Job Description

Summary:

The Carbon Neutrality and Energy Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategies to achieve carbon neutrality and enhance energy efficiency across ADVICS North America manufacturing operations. This role involves collaboration with various departments to identify opportunities for energy savings, renewable energy integration, and carbon footprint reduction.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

Carbon Neutrality Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive carbon neutrality strategy aligned with company goals and industry standards.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for carbon offset projects and renewable energy investments.
  • Monitor and report on progress towards carbon neutrality targets.

Energy Management:

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on energy consumption and efficiency metrics.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for energy savings and renewable energy projects.
  • Promote the adoption of energy-efficient technologies and practices within the manufacturing processes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including production, engineering, accounting, and procurement, to integrate carbon reduction practices.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and community organizations, to promote carbon neutrality initiatives.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on energy conservation and carbon reduction practices.

Reporting and Communication:
  • Prepare and present reports on carbon neutrality and energy performance to senior management.
  • Communicate sustainability goals and achievements to employees, stakeholders, and the public.

Qualifications:

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • The work is performed in a typical office setting and is mostly sedentary.
  • This position requires extensive communication with others internally to the company both verbal and written.
  • Required to work additional hours to meet deadlines, as necessary.
  • Travel up to 25% is required to North America Manufacturing sites for on-site audits.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, in Environmental Science, Energy Management, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in energy management, sustainability, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of carbon footprint assessment methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects and energy efficiency technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing.
