Job Description

Come be a part of turning off fossil fuels!
We are a small, mission-driven construction firm, specialized in reducing global warming emissions in existing buildings. We select and propose sustainable systems for our clients, and then implement our proposed decarbonization and electrification projects, doing electrical, plumbing, and heat pump HVAC work.

Most of our projects are in 1-8 unit residential buildings, and range in scope from an EV charger installation for a single-family house, to the replacement of all gas systems in a multifamily building with heat pumps and a new electrical service. Many of our projects are phased and must overlap with other projects.

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Construction Site Coordinator and Client Contact to join us. Feel the joy of working towards a sustainable future! As Construction Site Coordinator, you will plan and prepare construction projects, communicate with team members, clients and your supervisor, and help resolve the surprises encountered once projects begin. This job will require daily visits to construction sites, client houses, and material suppliers, although much of the coordination, emails and planning work will then be done on a computer and could be remote.

You should be comfortable working independently. During the initial training period, you will shadow the current Construction Site Coordinator and Client Contact, until youre confident that you understand the kinds of projects we do and how to coordinate their completion.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with construction teams, clients, and your supervisor about active and forthcoming projects
  • Make sure materials and tools needed for projects are available for teams at project start dates, both through online orders and purchases from local supply houses
  • Visit project sites to discuss with teams and make sure teams have all the materials and information they need for success
  • As Client Contact, you will also ensure that client emails get responses within 24h, as well as help schedule initial visits and construction

Required Qualifications

  • Commitment to stopping global warming
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Currently living in San Francisco or nearby cities (we are not able to relocate nor sponsor candidates)
  • Driver’s license and a car
  • Personal computer for emails and client coordination
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Preferred additional qualifications (not required)

  • Experience in the construction industry and knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and HVAC vocabulary and materials
  • Prior training in safety practices
  • Spanish language skills (intermediate)

Benefits include

  • Health care stipend
  • 3 paid holidays
  • Accrued paid sick time
  • Opportunities for career advancement in contracting or architecture
