Job Summary
The Market Intelligence Analyst will be a member of Trane Technologies Energy Services team, informing comprehensive building decarbonization strategies for communities and some of the largest commercial and industrial corporations across North America. The Market Intelligence Analyst plays a critical role in providing insights, analysis, training, and support to inform building decarbonization strategies facilitated with Trane CHVAC solutions. The Analyst will be an expert in building regulations driving area market decarbonization including energy codes, performance standards, benchmarking, corporate climate reporting requirements, and more. The Analyst will also exercise a familiarity with the utility landscape as it relates to business incentives, in favor of energy efficiency, electrification, energy storage, renewable energy generation, demand management, and advanced building technologies

Where is the work:
This is a Remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Research, analyze and report on global, national, and local market policy trends as it relates to commercial and industrial building and utility regulations.
- Track and share global and national carbon accounting and climate reporting trends that may shift the market
- Manage and maintain library of market profiles detailing evolving local market building regulations, policies and incentive programs across North America
- Collaborate with global climate policy stakeholders in amplifying enterprise policy positioning, training and education
- Inform corporate policy leaders with local market trends and insights
- Develop and manage internal stakeholder education strategy, emphasizing training content on a deep understanding of building regulations, climate and energy policy, and utility operations.
- Assist with the communication of findings and recommendations through clear, concise, and well written presentations, reports and marketing conduits
- Provide market data and insights as a collaborative partner of business development, marketing, advocacy and strategic sales counterparts
- Support stakeholder engagement processes that broaden participation, inclusion, and diverse perspectives in regulatory and policy decisions
- Up to 25% travel
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, economics, finance, public policy, sustainability, or a closely related field and over 4 years of professional-level work experience in energy or relevant fields
- Experience facilitating learning across networks or working groups of peer organizations, stakeholders, or representatives from diverse organizations
- Excellent written, communication, organization and presentation skills
- Ability to develop engaging content for a wide range of audiences
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Creative thinker with exceptional attention to details
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required, with the ability to function independently as well as in a team environment.
Key Competencies:
- Work experience or education that supports an understanding of public policies, technologies, and/or markets affecting utility operations and regulation
- Work experience managing the integrity of and development of tools for the analysis of large datasets
- Work experience performing qualitative and quantitative analysis that supports the development of policy for renewable energy and energy efficiency programs
- Work experience should include statistical analysis and monitoring, tracking, and being able to communicate findings to a team, management, and/or executives
- Experience successfully writing in business settings about complex topics for multiple audiences in a way that is understandable and compelling
- Preference may be given to candidates with specific expertise in energy policy and/or the practical delivery of energy-related programs
Annual Salary Range $70,750 – $93,750
Disclaimer: This salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed, education, experience, travel requirements for the job. Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
