Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Residential QA/QC Inspector. The position involves contributing to numerous Green Energy/Weatherization programs across CT to perform quality control inspections and mentor the program contractors. The Inspector will observe contractor performance in the field, complete quality assurance inspections before, during, and after contractor work, and guide the contractors accordingly to ensure the highest quality work. This position requires daily travel as the territory covered will span throughout the entire state of Connecticut.

Job Duties

  • Our scheduling team assigns jobs electronically, so there is no need to contact the customers directly until arrival on site.
  • Conduct on-site mentoring and observation of contractors performing Green Energy audits within residential homes. Homes will vary in size from single-family to multifamily.
  • Be on-site for advice regarding program guidelines and soft mentoring to contractors following company and program specifications.
  • Document on-site findings in addition to contractor performance, effectiveness of products, and services rendered.
  • Perform post-work inspections of contractors’ installed energy efficiency measures in residential and multifamily homes.
  • Observing, recording, and documenting variances from program standards.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in energy efficiency or trade experience, including Electrical, HVAC, Residential Construction, Insulation, Solar, Building Energy Modeling, or any other field related to an energy efficiency role.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (or similar programs).
  • The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: computers/technology, conversation/customer interaction, basic mathematics, organization, and documentation.
  • Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst, Envelope Professional (or BA-P/BA-T), BPI Quality Control Inspector, Infiltration & Duct Leakage, and Multifamily Building Analyst certifications are preferred (training offered for the right candidate will require passing exams once in position).
  • U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Home Energy Score Qualified Assessor is preferred (training offered for the right candidate will require passing exam once in position).
  • A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
  • Pass a background check.
  • A high school diploma/GED is required.

Pay: $26.00 – $35.00 per hour
