Evaluate software packages and provide recommendations to management and business clients. Identify future needs for key technologies and/or techniques and evaluates these technologies for adoption.
This position is on the Berkshire Hathaway Energy Generation and Trading IT application team. The team comprises software engineers, systems analysts, and quality assurance professionals providing development, system integration, and support for critical utility industry enterprise applications. Our team supports several business units, which include Electric Trading, Gas Trading, Risk Management, Energy Accounting, Generation, and Renewable Development. Technologies and systems include Openlink’s Endur, PCI, FIS’ Energy Trading and Risk Platform, AVEVA PI System, EnergyExemplar Aurora and Plexos, and many other internally developed and vendor solutions. Our systems interface with many ISO’s and RTO’s across the US, collect and store forecast and real-time operations data, and manage the energy trading lifecycle. The ultimate goal is to support our energy trading and generation business units with reliable software to provide nearly 5M customers with reliable, resilient, efficient energy safely and securely.
This role will involve managing existing in-house-developed energy trading applications, interfaces, and vendor applications and contributing to a significant new initiative within the PacifiCorp Energy Supply organization.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12-15%% of salary.
