Solar Interconnection Specialist – Commercial Division

Job Summary

  • The primary responsibility of the Interconnection Specialist is to submit interconnection applications to the Utility Company following process through to PTO for commercial and agricultural projects.
  • Emphasis on PGE Rule 21 and Greenbook knowledge.
  • Frequent email communications with Utility Interconnection Teams

Essential Functions.

  • Review electrical plans for Rule 21 and Greenbook requirements
  • Ensure that all required documents are complete and accurate for submission to utility interconnection, including:

-Electrical Single Line Diagram
-Site Plan
-Parcel Maps
-NEMA Spreadsheet
-Authorization Forms
-Leases; as needed for aggregation

  • Follow the application through to PTO, including all correspondence with Utility
  • Make corrections to application or plans as needed for Utility approval
  • Weekly reporting of Interconnection Application status on all jobs in process
  • Manage timelines with customers, Utility and construction teams
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills
  • Excellent Written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with solar interconnections
  • Some travel required- work vehicle provided

Minimum requirements of consideration:

  • Utility Interconnection Experience (2+ years)
  • Clean DMV
  • Clean criminal record
  • Willingness and ability to pass an initial drug test, and to submit to ongoing random drug testing per company policy
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Able to work 40 hrs. per week
  • Some travel required- work vehicle provided

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience:

  • construction industry: 1 year (Required)
  • Solar energy: 1 year (Required)
  • submitting PG&E Utility Applications: 2 years (Required)
