The team is looking for an energy-savvy Energy Program Manager to lead its Eco-Districts program and team. You will work within the Eco-Districts program of EcoWorks to make a lasting and direct impact on residents in single-family and multi-unit residences through its use of facilitation, information exchanges, and innovative approaches to bringing new resources to the neighborhoods it serves.

Here is more about what youll be doing:
In this role, you will manage customer-facing programs in varying stages of discovery, design, build, implementation, and exit. All programmatic work aligns to strategic drivers and has distinct business objectives and goals. Many of these programs are complex and high priority. The Energy Program Manager will:

Manage energy programs for business customers across commercial, industrial, government, institutional, and multifamily sectors.

Create processes and procedures to ensure consistency in program management and optimize use of energy efficiency and organizational resources.

Places a focus on DEI when engaging with stakeholders and customers to elicit community-based input on priorities and pathways to achieve goals.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and oversees the design, development, build-out, launch, and implementation of projects.

Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance and effectiveness of Eco-Districts program initiatives.

Manage the ongoing needs of the program including identifying and implementing changes needed that address gaps or pain points, risks, program effectiveness, and progress towards goals.

Select and manage external consultants and contractors. Establish scopes of work and selection criteria. Ensure performance, receipt of deliverables, accuracy of invoices and other related tasks through the life of the agreement.

Develop Eco-Districts staff to excel in customer service by establishing the needs of the customer and identify opportunities to enhance processes with service providers to best meet business goals.

Facilitate financial analysis, budgeting and cost control, data management, and project approval requests for the Eco-Districts program.

Participate in drafting funding proposals including scope of work, deliverables, measurement and evaluation documents as needed.

Supervises Eco-Districts team to leverage expertise and manage energy-using assets to achieve energy and cost savings.

Manage and implements product marketing and lead generation of program services and new program opportunities.

Manages energy data bases, oversees data entry and energy audits

Tracks, analyzes, and acts on state and federal energy legislation and regulations that impact the organization.

Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and decision-makers and participates in relevant networks and meetings to advance program goals.

Other duties as assigned.

You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelors degree in energy management, engineering, architecture, urban planning, or a related discipline required.
  • A Certified Energy Manager is preferred.
  • Experience in professional residential, community development, urban planning, sustainability, industrial energy management, or related field required. Additional experience with weatherization, home improvement, or home retro-fitting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of applied energy management including energy efficiency, conservation, distributed generation, electrification, decarbonization and load management preferred.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Experience with budgeting, procurement and contract documents, and financing, including grant programs.
  • Experience managing technical projects, programs and/or products that involve multiple internal and external stakeholders. Additional experience creating business cases and program plans, and soliciting and managing public professional service contracts strongly preferred.

Ability to work collaboratively and independently and demonstrate excellent cross-cultural competencies.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make public presentations and formulate recommendations related to program progression.

Demonstrated experience and success with program management and life-cycle management processes and data analytics.

Knowledge of demand-side management program tactics, design, procedures, guidelines, and rules preferred.

Demonstrated ability to positively influence program stakeholders and integrate the voice of the customer into the related project.

Demonstrated commitment to environmental and economic equity in design and delivery of services.

Must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license and be willing to travel throughout the greater Detroit area to conduct field work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
