Job Description

FIELD INSPECTOR (SEASONAL)
This seasonal role will specifically focus on agronomy support. The plant will utilize crop stover and corn as inputs and create a soil conditioner product in addition to renewable natural gas (methane). The work scope will include checking fields prior to and following harvesting activities. You will also assist agronomists and customers with contracts and sales. There will also be shadowing our agronomists to train in the field.

Job Type: Seasonal
Tentative Seasonal Timeframe: Three (3) to four (4) months – August 2024 through November 2024 (Could go into December 2024)
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday Sunday; 7:00 AM until done; weather dependent.
We have the ability to be flexible with scheduling based on candidate availability.

Requirements:
  • A valid Drivers License with an acceptable driving record a must.
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers, use tact and diplomacy and possess a customer service focus.
  • Possesses the ability to follow oral and written instructions including procedures and policies.
  • Must be able to make prompt, informed decisions while working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule 7 days a week as needed depending on weather.
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment.
  • Professional, friendly, and positive attitude a must.
Responsibilities:
  • Check field conditions (Is the field wet or otherwise).
  • Communicate to agronomy / crew leads on field conditions.
  • Check fields preharvest based on the agronomist(s) needs.
  • Customer Facing
    • Check fields once all the bales are stacked.
      • Check for twine, bales missed, ruts made, or any other field conditions or issues.
      • Report back to agronomist field conditions.
      • Participate in any customer interactions on field condition as needed.
    • Be in field with agronomist interacting with customers.
    • Share feedback with agronomy team .
  • Help with general agronomy duties.
    • Software assistance (FarMobile & AgTech).
    • Help the agronomists with getting contracts signed.
    • Grower applications.
    • Basic data entry.
  • Help with other agronomic and office duties.
  • Assist with humus sales duties.
  • Ride along with agronomists and use this as a training time to figure out what we are looking for and what we need during your first week.

ABOUT US:
The VERBIO Nevada Biorefinery, located in Nevada, Iowa (USA), is the first industrial scale renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in North America using agricultural residues as its feedstock. The plant is 100% owned by VERBIO North America Holdings Corporation.
RNG production from corn stover began in December 2021 with the completion of Phase I, at a capacity of 7 million ethanol gallons equivalent (EGE) per year. Upon completion of Phase II in the 4th quarter of 2022, the site will begin operating as a biorefinery, producing 60 million gallons of corn-based ethanol and an additional 19 million (EGE) of RNG from stillage. The integration of RNG and ethanol production, unique to VERBIO, incorporates advanced operational technology currently practiced at the companys facilities in Germany. The process also yields humus, a soil amendment, and organic fertilizers.
