Job Description

The Security Program Manager will be a vital member of the North American division of Edged Data Centers. In this position you will work directly with the Director, Security Operations and be responsible for the management of data center physical security systems, projects, guard services, and assisting with the development of the security program.

The Security Program Manager needs to be an agile, team-focused individual, with proven professionalism, who is comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. Key Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support in coordinating maintenance and work orders for physical security systems.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements with security vendors.
  • Monitor and provide reports on security vendor KPI’s and SLA’s.
  • Conduct physical security site risk assessments on current and future data center locations.
  • Assist in the development of employee security awareness training, emergency management procedures, and security best practices.
  • Assist with the development of security SOP’s, policies, and procedures for the site security team and for the Edged Security Program.
  • Assist with security investigations, threat identification, and response.
  • Support the development of security monitoring designed to deter, detect, delay, and respond to security incidents.
  • Manage the preventative maintenance for the access control, intrusion detection, and camera system.
  • Provide administrative and customer support duties for the access control program.
  • Assist site security teams and customers with badge issues, visitor management, and compliance reporting requirements.
  • Interact with the alarm maintenance personnel to coordinate and create reports monthly.
  • Perform semi-annual inspections and alarm tests at data centers to determine whether safety hazards exist regarding fire, intrusion, panic, emergency exit, and door prop alarm systems.
  • Coordinate the installation, operation, or designs of any data center retrofit projects.
  • Assist in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining security processes and measures aimed at mitigating security risks.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to personnel engaged in security systems monitoring and response functions.
  • Manage site logistics security plans and ensure compliance with construction projects and site operations.
  • Communicate effectively with business units and all other contractors involved in projects.

Skills & Requirements

Education / Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working with security access control systems, CCTV systems, and intrusion detection systems.
  • 5+ years of experience working in physical security technical role.
  • 5+ years of experience working with contract security guard companies.
  • Experience in writing security post orders, SOP’s, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with access control compliance reporting and documentation.
  • Knowledge of vendor and supplier performance oversight, purchase order processes, and financial management principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, business, facilities management, or a related field preferred.

Specific Skills / Abilities

  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to compose and deliver responses to customers’ and company stakeholders.
  • Certification or experience with the Lenel OnGuard access control systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of security procedures for the maintenance and operation of electronic security equipment.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry best practices pertaining to physical security
