The Role:

The Senior Director of Engineering will be responsible for coordinating the technical requirements across the portfolio of projects across the country. They will be responsible for working directly with Development, Finance, Regulatory and Legal within Elevate to advance the projects. They will also be the lead in working with 3rd Party contractors for both engineering and procurement of preferred OEMS across the fleet.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the oversight of 3rd party engineers and EPC contractors to maintain industry standards and company specifications.
• Work with development to provide engineering expertise across the portfolio of projects including evaluation existing operating plants and brownfield sites.
• Work closely with on the ground construction teams to ensure project is built to specification and support field questions.
• Negotiate with vendors to create Scopes of Work and execute purchase orders.
• Support development and pre-construction activities.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, project partners and other stakeholders.
• Prioritize work to meet project deadlines, budgets and goals.
• Professionally represent the organization to various parties including landowners, vendors, local officials and other stakeholders.
• Reporting to management as required.
• Track new technology opportunities across the renewable industry including storage, wind and solar.
• Ability to travel to various project sites across the country
• Travel will be up to to 50% depending on project status and requirements.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably electrical).
• Minimum 4 years’ experience developing (leading from start to finish) utility-scale Battery Energy Storage projects.
• Experience in large scale construction, preferably in a brownfield environment.
• Experience negotiating large scale purchase orders and agreements
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate matters verbally and in written format.
