Responsibilities

  • The Construction Tech Office Lead is responsible for the successful application of assembly documentation of SGRE turbines, both new and existing models, for ON North America Projects. Role involves close collaboration and coordination with Corporate Technical Office, Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Construction, Procurement, Sales, Quality and Service organizations.
  • Serve as liaison between wind farms Local technical office and support the activities when required.
  • Understand, prepare & update the training material for contractors, customers and site personnel.
  • Write RFI responses under manager supervision.
  • Make sure that updated documentation to specific wind farm, is correct as per contract requirements
  • Ensure the latest revision of documents are available to site and organized in a logical user-friendly manner as per contract requirements.
  • Respond and track RFI’s response time from tech office to site and from corporate to tech office when tech office requests their support.
  • Able to use the engineering training/background to make efficient and safe executive decisions.
  • Assist in evaluation of implementation of corporate designed procedures for local market implementation or present improvements ideas based on the market capabilities and needs.
  • Support Project Manager, Project Engineer and Tool Centers for a specific project ensuring all related deliverables are completed on time and in the safest way possible.
  • Evaluate the options of improving procedures that can streamline the assembly process on site with a view of global implementation.
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning, and Sales Teams during the bidding process for Projects in regard to current assembly plan.
  • Perform lessons learned sessions and collect feedback from projects with the first product implementation and identify actions for the further improvement in the design, logistics, manufacturing and construction.
  • Update monthly KPIs related to the active projects and initiatives and provide monthly updates for the Onshore North America Project Upper Management and CEO of North America.
  • Support Project teams for the definition of the site parts, spare parts, alternative parts that are applicable to the platform.
  • Assist with modification and creation of work instructions.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Experience, And Education

  • 2+ year of experience working in Design Engineering, Project Management
  • Ability to perform detailed root cause analysis on quality issues
  • High School Diploma
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong MS Office (word, power point, excel) skills required.
  • Strong Catia skill preferred and CAD skills required
  • Estimated 30-40% travel.
  • Proven experience in working fast paced, high visibility environment.
  • Proven team player and collaborator with all levels of staff
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Qualified applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Experience, And Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required preferably a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • MS/MBA preferred. (last semester students would be considered)
  • Wind Power Industry and product experience.
  • Construction site field experience.
