Summary of Responsibilities 

Perform activities and tasks associated with on-site waste management, decontamination, Liquid Effluent Collection and Treatment System (LECTS) operation, nondestructive assay (NDA) measurements, and waste handling in accordance with all applicable company and / or regulatory requirements. 

Education and Experience 

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED 
  • Years of experience: One (1) to three (3) years of related work experience 
  • National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT) Certification

  • The work location for this position is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM. 
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed. 
  • Travel Required: 15% of the time or less as required. 
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required. 
  • Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc. 

Primary Functions 

  • Perform equipment decontamination, nondestructive assay (NDA), Liquid Effluent Collection and Treatment System (LECTS), and regulated waste handling activities. 
  • Perform routine inspections of on-site waste accumulation areas and document observations or findings in accordance with quality assurance and waste management procedures. 
  • Handle and decontaminate equipment. 
  • Dispose of radioactively contaminated waste to include transport in accordance to regulations, provide oversight of Recycling systems and programs as required. 
  • Complete and submit to supervision required decontamination, waste handling, and NDA instrument records including those from inspections, surveys, MC&A and criticality safety measurements.

Compensation starting at: $65239 – $97734 / year and up dependent on candidate.
