As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the Xcimer team by taking ownership of critical accounting processes including accounts payable and GL accounting, while working cross functionally to support the business operations to understand incurred costs to help us deliver results on a first of its kind fusion energy system. This role involves frequent engagement with business operations and other internal groups, as well as external vendors. It requires a person with a passion for working with people, attention to detail, organizational skills and a proven ability to deliver results. We are looking for a people-centric Staff Accountant to apply their accounting, organizational and problem-solving skills, along with a dedication to quality to positively impact the future of energy!

Responsibilities

  • Perform day to day accounting duties in AP, cash management, GL and other duties as assigned
  • Assist with the monthly close process by posting monthly journal entries, performing account reconciliations and ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Support annual audit, tax preparation for federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Own the PO, AP, and 3-way match process ensuring bills are reconciled with PO’s and vendors are paid on a timely basis
  • Assist on projects and ad hoc assignments as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 0 – 3 years of progressive accounting experience with direct exposure to accounting operation duties like AP, FA, GL and cash reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with standard software solutions preferred, for example: QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Ramp, Carta
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including the ability to work with complex Excel spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and high customer service capabilities
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee of granted asylum
