Multifunctional Energy Storage Lab is seeking another highly motivated and talented Ph.D. student to join our cutting-edge research team focused on Li-ion batteries. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in battery fabrication, molecular dynamics, and electrochemistry.

PhD Position Available: Solid State Li Metal Batteries

Position: PhD Researcher

Location: Multifunctional Energy Storage Lab, University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK

About the Position: We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research group focusing on solid-state lithium metal batteries. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research aimed at improving battery performance, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to investigate ion transport and interfacial phenomena in solid-state electrolytes.
  • Develop and optimize solid-state electrolyte materials for lithium metal batteries.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and industry partners.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.
  • Background in lithium-ion battery technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with computational software and programming languages (e.g., LAMMPS, VASP, Python).
