Job Description


Scope of Position The Sr. Manager, EPC Technical Sales is responsible for driving the growth of the Company’s EPC pipeline through creating solar and battery storage project budgets, identifying and refining project scope with subcontractors, initiating subcontractor relationships, supporting sales and origination efforts, and maintaining relationships with developers and IPPs to originate utility-scale solar project opportunities which are typically 5MW–150 MW in size. The Sr. Manager, EPC Technical Sales will be a consummate team player and be a self starting and motivated individual who has a proven history of managing subcontractor relationships and creating project budgets. The Sr. Manager, EPC Technical Sales should thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment and be an accomplished leader.

Responsibilities

  • Create project budgets, manage subcontractor relationships, and evaluate EPC opportunities, including:
    • Craft project cost estimates through identifying strategic opportunities with subcontractors, equipment providers, and local labor organizations.
    • Analyze potential project opportunities through evaluating electrical and civil designs, wetlands delineations, geotechnical studies, topo surveys, and EPC agreements provided by partner developers and IPPs.
    • Identify, understand, and solve all potential budgetary risks for solar projects, including legal and regulatory requirements applicable to a project; potential required labor requirements; safety and performance qualifications of subcontractors; procurement risks around equipment availability; land challenges such as site access, laydown areas, wetlands, geotechnical risks.
  • Effectively support the business development team, to promote potential EPC sales opportunities with both third-party developers and third party IPPs:
  • In conjunction with the VP of Business Development, or assigned Business Development Representative, create bid packages, support the sales cycle through providing technical expertise in meetings, and assist in managing strategic relationships.
  • Assist with presenting projects for approval or sale to internal colleagues, customers, and utilities.
  • Represent Company and its affiliates to outside parties.
  • Review, understand, negotiate, and close EPC contracts for projects originated or developed by the Business Development team, including nondisclosure agreements, term sheets, EPC agreements and consultant agreements.
  • Develop and expand industry knowledge and contacts, customer contacts, and relevant base of knowledge to support project origination and development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to traverse site visits with varying terrain and weather conditions.

    Working Conditions

    Approximately 80% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. Approximately 20% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings.

    Location : The position will be based in either our West Lebanon, NH or Columbia, MD office. The ideal candidate will reside locally or be willing to relocate. This position offers two-day per week hybrid flexibility.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience –

    Typically Requires

    • Business degree preferred
    • At least 7 years of experience in engineering, procurement, and construction management, with at least 4 years in a commercial or utility- scale solar sales function

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities –

    Requires knowledge of:
