Job Description


Accountabilities
  • Identify and help shape storage at BluEarth.
  • Support the development team of existing pipeline, new greenfield development, and project acquisition.
  • Engage with vendors and perform research to determine optimal storage solutions and configuration.
  • Determine optimal development strategy to maximize BluEarth success on storage projects.
  • Effectively communicate complex solutions and work through development issues from the start of development through construction.
  • Manage and support permitting, site control, interconnection matters, power marketing, design, engineering, procurement, financing, and other matters critical to the development of storage projects at BluEarth.
  • Ownership of project inputs/assumptions and coordinating updates with respective internal groups.
  • Manager storage project progress, risks, opportunities, and economic while providing thoughtful analysis and risk evaluation.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the overall state of the energy storage market, including regulatory and competitive matters to inform development decisions.
  • Manage negotiation of lease/purchase options and agreements for site control.
  • Coordinate engineering activities in support of permits and as required for interconnection matters.
  • Work closely with the engineering team in support of design and EPC process.
  • Uphold all aspects of BluEarth’s Environmental, Health, & Safety policies, practices, and programs.
  • Uphold the company’s core values.

Education

  • University degree in business, economics, engineering, environmental science or another analytical field is required.

Experience

  • Minimum seven (7) years’ relevant work experience and two (2) years experience in energy storage or commercial scale renewable energy development.
  • Experience in project management, permitting, offtake negotiation, interconnection, planning, land acquisition and other matters critical to development.
  • Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements, etc.
  • Ability to evaluate development status and efficiently inform critical decision making with management.
  • Must be available to travel (US & Canada) up to 30% of the time with the need for some overnight trips.

Job Requirements

  • Able to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Able to commit to a flexible work schedule that often involves significant time outside of typical work times.
  • Ability to travel within the United States and Canada.
