Job Description

Piper Maddox has partnered with a top US solar financier and developer that builds utility-scale solar projects. Together, we’re searching for a Construction Manager based in southern Illinois.

This is a truly innovative company that sets itself apart from traditional solar IPPs. The company has fewer than 100 employees and has achieved incredible success in asset management, project development, trading, and fund management. They have created some incredible partnerships with a leading international energy infrastructure fund as well as extremely well-known institutional partners.

As a leader in the market, they are continually expanding their market presence and project pipeline. This company has developed and financed over 200 projects, totaling over a billion dollars in solar assets, and they have managed over $450 million of institutional capital deployed. This company is looking to continue its trend of being a leader in the sustainability industry by growing its team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Holding primary responsibility for ensuring the project’s on-site completion, making sure the contractor effectively manages the construction schedule and progress.
  • Guaranteeing adherence to safety standards, quality benchmarks, and the business’s specifications.
  • Assessing the EPC contractor’s compliance with technical specifications, ensuring consistent and quality installation of materials to meet design performance and O&M expectations. Directing rework when necessary.
  • Overseeing the EPC contractor to ensure timely procurement activities and proper management of subcontractors and job site materials.
  • Assisting in the delivery and offloading of Owner Furnished Equipment.

We are looking for someone with a background similar to:

  • 7 years of experience within utility-scale renewable energy construction or project engineering
  • A comprehensive understanding of the solar construction process, including effective management strategies
  • OSHA 10 certification, preferably an OSHA 30 certification
  • NABCEP certification (nice to have)
