Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lead Logistics Specialist to join our team in the commercial fencing construction industry. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective management of materials and resources throughout the project lifecycle, from procurement to delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics or supply chain management, with a proven ability to coordinate complex operations in a construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Materials Coordination: Manage the procurement, storage, and delivery of fencing materials and construction supplies. Ensure timely availability of resources at various project sites.

Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors. Negotiate contracts and manage disputes to ensure favorable terms and reliable service.

Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels and implement systems to track and optimize material use. Address any discrepancies and adjust inventory records accordingly.

Logistical Planning: Develop and implement efficient logistical plans for multiple projects. Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to align resources with project schedules.

Transportation Management: Arrange transportation for materials and equipment. Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations during transit.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all logistical operations, including purchase orders, delivery receipts, and transport documents.

Cost Control: Monitor logistics expenses and contribute to cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or timelines.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure all logistics activities comply with industry standards and safety regulations. Stay updated on new regulations and implement necessary changes.

Requirements:

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics, preferably in the construction or related industry.

· Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.

· Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software and Excel.

Preferred Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Excellent organizational and planning skills.

· Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

· Effective communication and negotiation skills.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Work Environment:

· This role primarily operates in an office setting but requires frequent visits to the company laydown yard and materials storage facility.

· Travel to suppliers and other stakeholder locations may also be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone, along with other general office equipment.
  • Close vision abilities required due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting/carrying of 25 lbs may be required.
  • Reaching overhead or below.
  • Work environment may include being able to tolerate moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, light traffic)
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
