Operations Supervisor – Power Generation

Position Title: Operations Supervisor

Location: Shafter, CA

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor to join the team at a Southern California solid-fuel power plant. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations, ensuring the efficient and safe generation of electricity from biomass – a renewable and sustainable source.

Responsibilities:

• Guide and mentor your team of operators and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and safety
• Monitor plant activity, ensuring smooth operation. You’ll oversee startup, shutdown, and load changes of the power plant to ensure efficient and reliable operation
• Your commitment to safety is most important. You will enforce protocols and regulations, creating a safe work environment for everyone
• Partner with maintenance teams to schedule and coordinate equipment maintenance, repair, and inspections. You’ll troubleshoot technical issues to minimize downtime and optimize equipment reliability
• Lead the team in emergency response, ensuring prompt and effective action during equipment failures and safety incidents
• Partner with engineering, maintenance, and other departments to maximize plant performance, troubleshoot challenges, and support projects
• Be an agent of positive change! Identify opportunities for operational enhancements, efficiency gains, and cost savings

Requirements:

• Holds a high school diploma or equivalent
• Has 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Has a solid foundation in plant operations
• Brings expertise in power generation, biomass boiler, steam turbines
