Chemours is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer with expertise in Combustion Systems to join our growing Engineering Technology team! This full-time position will report directly to the Engineering Senior Manager and is located at Chemours headquarters in Wilmington, DE or remotely near manufacturing sites in the mid-Ohio Valley, Tennessee Valley, Carolinas or Gulf Coast regions.

The successful candidate will join a diverse team of technical experts who provide high-value, innovative engineering solutions to Chemours global chemical businesses in support of research and development, plant operations, and new capital projects.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide engineering expertise for chemical process combustion systems including for boilers, process heaters, process dryers, thermal oxidizers, and related operations.
  • Analyze system performance and develop improvement opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot operation and guide corrective actions.
  • Support specification, design, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Identify and drive energy projects and variable cost savings initiatives.
  • Provide support to global energy networks and climate goal teams.
  • Develop and deliver webinar and in-person training to internal client groups.

The Following Is Required For This Role

  • Accredited degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (BS, MS, or PhD)
  • 5 – 10 years of relevant post-degree work experience
  • Expertise in fired equipment and combustion controls
  • Experience with industrial and preferably chemical processes
  • Experience in operational troubleshooting and improvement
  • A valid passport and ability to sustain an average travel rate of 25% (mostly domestic)

The Following Is Preferred For This Role

  • Experience in specification, design, commissioning and/or startup of new equipment
  • Experience with thermal oxidizer systems
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration systems
  • Experience with industrial utility systems (steam, condensate, compressed gas, water)
  • Experience with industrial water treatment for boiler and cooling tower systems
  • Experience with HVAC systems within production support facilities

$105,280.00 – $164,500.00
