Solar Service Tech Job Duties:

  • Troubleshooting and Servicing Solar and Electrical Systems: Assist in the assessment and repair of existing solar panel systems to ensure they are functioning efficiently.
  • Panel Cleaning: Help clean solar panels to maintain optimal performance.
  • Abandoned Systems: Assess and complete repairs or upgrades for systems that have been left unfinished or abandoned.
  • Battery Retrofits: Assist in the installation and assessment of battery storage systems for existing solar setups.
  • System Expansions: Support the addition of solar panels to existing systems, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
  • Vehicle Management: Manage vehicle inventory and maintenance, ensuring tools and materials are ready for daily tasks.
  • On-the-Job Learning: Learn from the lead technician about troubleshooting, system assessments, and all aspects of service work, preparing to take on more responsibilities over time.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience with rooftop solar installations. Previous experience as a roof lead is a plus.
  • Licensing: Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Skills: Basic understanding of solar electrical systems and troubleshooting. Willingness to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work closely with the lead technician and other team members to complete projects efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
