Overview:
15 lightyears is looking for a full-time Electrician to join our team. The Electrician is responsible for performing electrical wiring duties in a jobsite setting with relatively little supervision. This position will read blueprints, install switchgear, distribution panels, transformers, and other electrical gear: and perform other electrical duties related to general construction operations.

Location: 15 lightyears corporate office located in Longwood, FL. Job is performed in various counties across Central Florida.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. Potential for overtime is available.

Responsibilities Include:
- Knowledge to perform the basics to mid level in electrical repair and Installation.
- Assemble, install, and test electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
- Maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Perform Quality Audits / Inspection to our products / processes.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including ammeters etc.
- Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- 4 years experience in electrical field
- Ability to safely handle tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment
- Ability to work in reasonable weather conditions
- Capable of working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs; and performing repetitive duties, including lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time
- Experience using basic hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills preferred
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
- Must have reliable transportation
